Vera

I don't think I've talked Vera on my blog in a long time. I have to admit, I've considered having a parting of ways one or two times. It used to be simple and fun (and cheaper) to collect her bags, but now with new patterns and styles coming out more than twice as often, it's a lot to take.

I've always been very open about my patternitis in the past, and I have to tell you, my OCD tendencies work overtime every time the new patterns come out. Today the Fall 2011 patterns came out, and I have spent a ridiculous amount of time thinking about them. Like, an embarrassing amount. But, since I told you I ate a plate of brownies yesterday, I figure I've already hit rock bottom.

Now, I know not all of you like VB, but I thought I'd ask your opinion. Which pattern is your favorite this season? I can't decide between Plum Petals and Happy Snails. And yes, I realize this is a ridiculous, silly subject. I'll work on something meaningful and thought-provoking for tomorrow. Or I'll go eat a brownie.

I kid, I kid. There aren't any left. I ate them all.

School's Back For the Autumn

When I was younger, I would wait with anticipation for the school supplies to be put out on the shelves. Finally, my mom would take us to pick our stuff out, and I would bring it home and spend the next few weeks stacking it all up, unstacking it, and stacking it up again. I'm not exactly sure what all the stacking did, but I'm sure it was very beneficial in making me the slightly OCD person I am today.

Now that I work in a school, though, I have to admit that this sight strikes fear into my heart.

Okay, maybe fear is a strong word. More like a dull ache that reminds me that I am not a woman of leisure. I love my job, I love working in a school, and I really do like getting up and doing more with my day than watching episodes of Bones and doing laundry. But when this stuff starts popping up at Target it means that summer vacation is almost over. And I do love summer.

I do, however, still get excited about some school supplies. I mean, have you seen the Vera Bradley stuff? Super cute. And you know that if anything is going to get me excited about school it's Vera.

New Vera Goodness (a.k.a. Things I Need)

By now you know about my infatuation with Vera Bradley. It's no secret, and I am not ashamed. I am trying to get myself under control, but how can I when they keep coming out with new things?

Like This:

And This:

Seriously, who doesn't need this stuff? I think it is very fun and summer-y. It's too bad my blog isn't famous, because then I could totally get Vera to send me stuff for free. That may just be my new goal in life. I like to dream big. And did I mention these?

I didn't think so.

It's Here!

You know you were worried!

PS: I didn't get mine off of ebay, because they got a new shipment in at the store. But, they aren't that much more on ebay!

Cool It

Okay, ya'll. I need some help. I am heartbroken, and today I faced my own personal tragedy. I left right after school to go to Vera. The only reason I made the trip is because for a limited time they are selling super cute mini coolers on the cheap. Some of you know that our family goes to a lot of Ranger games, and I was very excited about rocking the cooler at the games this year. Mock me if you must, but I don't enjoy drinking $5 water.

WELL, I got there, and THEY WERE OUT. OF COOLERS. How am I supposed to rock the games now? Sigh. I think I freaked the ladies out at the store by sharing with them how depressed I was about this whole situation. Luckily, they said there is a chance that they may get more in and I am 20th on the waiting list. So...I'll let ya'll know if I get a call. PS: They are already all over ebay, which just makes me mad. I would not sell my cooler. I would love it.

Patternitis

I may or may not have an obsession.

I'm sure that a lot of you recognize those brightly colored patterns, otherwise known as Vera Bradley goodness. I have found that people have one of two reactions to Vera: deep love or deep hate. I have a deep love for Vera that stems back to college. I have never heard of Vera before college, and all of a sudden all of these girls are carrying them all over campus. I was but a poor college student, but every time I went to Spice (sic 'em) I would look through each pattern deciding which one I would get. Then, one day I went in and there was one on sale! Ahh! So my first pattern was born: Americana Red. Oh yeah.

But since then I have developed a bit of a problem. I like to call it Patternitis. This is a serious illness, people. It is not to be taken lightly. Patternitis is the inability to stick with one pattern. Patternitis can be caused by several things. 1. They keep retiring patterns. 2. They keep coming out with new patterns. 3. I like them all (except for a few unfortunates I won't mention in case you own them).

My Patternitis has recently been exacerbated by this little beauty:

Inevitably, every time I walk in, I leave like this:

Then, they send you a $20 gift card for your birthday and then tell you that if you spend a little bit more you get the oh so cute binder clips. Then, you walk out with these:

It could be worse. I could have a real disease. Like Gucci-itis.
