Living Large

Yes. Yes, you do.

Here's hoping I won't be buying this in a size 40-year-old someday.

Max's First Easter

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Frugal Friday

Total before sales and coupons: $91.00
Total out-of-pocket: $32.00
Savings: 66%

I just had to share my fun Walgreens trip this week. I always feel a little crazy taking these pictures and blogging about it, but I wanted to show you how easy it really can be. I usually look at the Walgreens ad Sunday afternoon, decide what I might like, match it with my coupons, and go grab it at the store that evening or the next day. Total time spent? Probably about an hour. But it's worth it to me when I see that total on the register.

Seven Months

Max, you are SEVEN months old!

You are such a happy little guy, and you are getting more animated by the day. You aren't crawling yet, but you are definitely on the move. You love to play on the floor, jump in your door bouncer, swing at the playground, and go for walks around the neighborhood. You like to be out and about, and I'm pretty sure your favorite place is still Target. That's what I tell your dad, anyway.

Here are a few more things about you this month:
-I'm pretty sure you are over 20 pounds by now.
-You have the chunkiest legs. You get stuck in your Bumbo every time.
-You were getting a little too tall (and heavy) for your infant car seat, so you moved up into your big boy car seat this weekend You look so big in it!
-You are so close to crawling. You get up on your hands and knees and rock and rock. But for now you scoot and roll wherever you want to go.
-You love to go play on the wood and tile floors, because they are slippery and you can scoot.
-You have outgrown your swing. You still like to sit in it, but you are so big that it doesn't really rock.
-You have said mama a few times. Jury is still out on whether you mean to or not.
-You are a charmer. You smile at everyone.
-You are starting to try different very soft finger foods, like egg yolk. So far, so good.
-You are a big fan of puffs. You basically attack them the second I put them on your tray.
-You love to eat. You have worked up to eating twice a day, 3 or 4 ounces every meal.
-You will sit up for a minute or so if I put you like that, but you aren't too keen on that. Why sit up when you can roll around and play with your toys?
-You love to blow raspberries (even with your mouth full of food...yay!). You have started sticking your hand in your mouth and sticking out your tongue to make them even louder.
-You also smack your lips, almost like you are pretending to chew.
-You used to be a thumb sucker, but you have stopped that. Now, you get really excited when we put you in bed and you see your blanket. You suck on the corner of it and fall asleep.
-No teeth, but I think they are right around the corner. Although I've been saying that for months...maybe 7 will be the magic number!

And because I take way too many pictures...

Sunday Snapshot

Just a quick picture before church yesterday. My favorite thing about taking his picture in this chair is the way he props his arm up on the side. Love it! Oh, and seriously. Could he look anymore like a linebacker? That's a 6-9 month shirt, and I think we may have to retire it. His neck looks like it's going to rip the shirt at any moment!

Max's First Egg Hunt

Yesterday was Max's first egg hunt. He didn't much care. But he did have a blast (as always) watching other kids. It was a pretty chilly day, but Max didn't seem to mind. He even got an egg. One. That we threw back for a child who would actually eat the candy. But next year it's on.

You talking to me?

Seriously...you talking to me? I have no idea why there's an orange ball in the bucket.

Look...no hands!

What are those kids doing?

Like father, like son.

Mmmm...Easter napkin

I love to swing!

And chew on my overalls at the same time.

Nap time?

The Easter basket...made with my trusty Silhouette.

Our Week in (iPhone) Pictures

Rolling wherever I want.

Drinking a bottle.

Trying to drink Mommy's bottle.

Playing under the table. And the bed. And...

Sitting up. At least for a minute or so.

Oh the mess.

Vera Bradley is yummy!

Yard work is hard.

Sew Excited

My friends here in Mississippi and I have been wanting to learn how to sew for what seems like forever. Last month, we finally started! We are meeting up at church to sew on Fridays, and although I've only been twice so far (babies do that to you I guess) I have managed to make some fun stuff. I am in desperate need of lots and lots of practice doing fairly simple things like, say, sewing a straight line, but I'll get there. Hopefully. Here are a few pictures of some beginner projects I have been working on. (And a big thank you to my grandmother, whose machine I have been using).

I put this applique on a towel for a baby shower last weekend. It was super easy, since the Silhouette cuts fabric now. Whoo hoo! I have big plans for that little machine...

Just a little diaper and wipes case. I decided it could be kind of girly since it's for my purse. Sorry for the blurry phone picture. You can see the tutorial for this one here.

A little car cozy for a sweet boy I know. I found the idea here, and you can follow the links to detailed instructions.

I have also made a few of these from the same blog, but I don't have any good pictures. Hers are better anyway! This blog (The Cottage Home) is definitely one of my favorites. She has lots of fun crafts and good recipes as well for those of you who have no interest in sewing. She's what I like to call an equal opportunity domestician. I may have made that word up.
