Zoo Fun

The day before Max's birthday party my mom was in town, so we took the kiddos to the zoo. The weather was perfect, and we had a great day! No crying...except when a large monkey ran into the plexiglass window right in front of Ben's face. He wasn't a fan, poor guy.

All four kiddos in the Hummer.
Max is waving to some tiny monkeys.

Just hanging out.

Ben is cracking me up here.
What's the deal with this place? Why can't I touch the animals?
(Note: Ben would never do such a thing because animals terrify him.)

Do I look like a bee?

Feeding the birds.
I took a turn, and I find that it is both fun and strangely terrifying.

Had to watch the stroller in the bird santuary.
This bird had a death wish.

There are a couple places around the zoo they let kids play in the water.
I think we spent half the day just doing that!

We'll just sleep, thanks.

Mike Has a Birthday

Last week, Mike turned 32, so we had to celebrate in style. It's so fun to have a kid that is old enough to start "getting it" when we celebrate. Max had a blast helping me decorate cupcakes, and he certainly didn't mind wearing a headband. Ben was leery at first, but he ended up wearing that headband all over the house all week.

We had a great day celebrating our daddy!

Sic 'em Bears!

One of Max and Ben's friends had a birthday party on the first day of college football season, so naturally her parents threw her a fun tailgating party. We had to represent our Baylor Bears out here in SEC country, which meant new gear for all the kiddos. I ordered fun bows for the girls not knowing they were going to be bigger than an actual bear. But they were cute, and we had so much fun!

Froyo

So basically I just like writing the word froyo. We took the kiddos to get a fun treat a couple weekends ago. Max is really the only one who "gets it" when we are doing something fun, but Ben likes to go along for the ride! The girls are happy as long as their stomachs are full and they can smile at us. We may have to make late night (7:00) froyo an afternoon treat from now on since Max was up singing in his bed until 10:30, but it was totally worth it!

 On the way.
We told him we were going to get a surprise, so he wouldn't open his eyes. Even in the parking lot.
He kept walking into parked cars.

 Happy boy!

Yum!

Addie and Emmie at 3 Months

Addie and Emmie on August 20th you both turned 3 months old!

(Taking turns sticking out their tongues.)
(PS: Emmie is on the left in all of these.)

Here are a few of the things you are doing this month...

You are both smiling a lot more consistently.
You make little giggly noises every now and then.

You both wear 3 month and 3-6 month clothes. You can still wear some newborn.
 You wear size 1 diapers.

You are both still obsessed with the swing. You take turns in it...but only because we make you!

(Emmie)

(Addie)

You both love the ol' Wubba Nub, but you are turning into thumb suckers at night.
It's funny to see how ya'll learn new things at the same time.
It's usually either exactly the same or within a couple hours of each other!

 (Emmie)

(Addie)

You are both sleeping from about 8:30 or 9:00 at night until about 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning.
Addie you always wake up first, so I feed you and then make your sister get up.

 (Emmie)

 (Addie)

Emmie, you remind me so much of Max.
You get startled easily, and you open your eyes really wide just like he did.

I can tell you are both really changing, so I can't wait for your four month post!
