Dragons Can Be Cute Too

Just too cute! For our family and friends who want to see more of our little dragon, make sure you check out our picture site on Shutterfly. You can get there by clicking on the link under Meet the Family in the sidebar. There is probably an obnoxious amount of pictures, but I'm sure I have a few family members out there (Hi Mom! Hi Nana!) who will appreciate it. Stay Classy blog world.

Despite the look on his face, this kid really does love bath time!

1 Month!

Max turned 1 month old last week!

Here are a few things you are doing lately, Max:

-You weigh 11 pounds...yup.
-You outgrew newborn diapers at about 3 weeks and moved up to 1s.
-We are starting to put away your newborn are wearing 0-3 months now.
-You eat every 3 hours...lately you may stretch it to 4 at night.
-You are strong! If you don't want to bend your arms and legs, then you aren't doing it. You can turn your head when you are on your stomach, and you have turned from stomach to back. We're not sure you knew what you were doing, but you did it!
-Sometimes you just want to be alone. You like to hang out on your activity mat.
-You love to take go right to sleep. Mommy may or may not take advantage of this when you are crying at 9:00 at night.
-You've already been to three different states, and you will visit two more before your 2 month birthday...such a traveler.
-You love to watch fans and lights. And you will stare in a mirror forever.
-I can't wait to see what you do next!

Fall Porch

Well...decorating for fall inside our house just isn't happening this year! Maybe I can start super early with Christmas decorations. I'm sure my neighbors would love to see my Christmas tree in the window in mid-November. Just trying to keep it fancy around here.

I did want to at least decorate my porch for fall. I started last week, and my aunt helped me finish up while she and my mom (my mom and she?...that one always gets me) were here this weekend. At least on the outside it looks as if this house hasn't lost it's grip on reality and sense of time!

The Big Easy

Last week Max went on a pretty big adventure. Mike had to go to New Orleans for school, and Max really wanted to go along. Well...or mom didn't want to stay home alone! Mr. Max did really well. He slept the whole way there and back. Except for an unfortunate diaper incident at McAlister's that left dad a little dirty and another one that left the carseat scarred, the trip was a lot easier than we thought it would be!

While Mike did stuff for school, Max and I spent a whole lot of time together in the hotel room and driving around. We did take him to the French Quarter for beignets at Cafe Du Monde, but he slept right through it. We thought we may stay an extra day to sight-see, but we decided really fast that home sounded really good. Life really does change when you become a family of three!

I didn't really get as many pictures as I would have liked, but we were more into changing diapers in the WalMart parking lot than using the camera. Here are the only ones I got:

Mike feeding Max at a rest stop. That's how we do.

Cafe Du Monde.
Max's first time in the Bjorn. I was a little afraid he was going to fall out. But I'm a little crazy.

Yum! I don't have a single picture of me on the trip, but at least I got a picture of the food.
