A New Future

About an hour ago, we received a call from the lawyer here in Pennsylvania, and Miss C has decided to keep Will. (At this point, I am still calling him Will because she has for the last 6 months as well).

When we were chosen as his adoptive parents 6 months ago, we decided that we would plan and prepare as if he was 100 percent coming home with us. However, in adoption we know that you always have to be prepared and know that reality might bring a much different future. We are facing that future now, and although we are heartbroken, we are choosing to believe that God knows exactly what He is doing and has this sweet baby boy's future in His hands.

Please pray for everyone involved in the coming days.

Amanda, our hearts go out to you and Mike. We will be praying for strength and God's peace during this time. I pray that you guys will be able to find comfort in knowing that we worship and walk alongside a BIG God! And thank goodness He's the one in control because His plans are so much bigger and better than anything we could ever ask or imagine. You guys are loved and so is that little one growing inside of you. Keep yourself healthy....you're going to be a mama soon!

Mike and Amanda, Your poise and faith in this process has been amazing. You actions have encouraged many, and your trust in our God has taught many how to believe. There is no doubt that God is in absolute control in this situation, but our heart aches with you. We love you, we wish you all the best, we know that God has something incredible in store for your family as you prepare for baby McDeux. Many blessings from the Snyders.

Amanda,
I have been following your blog for about a year. I had a friend June who took her son home and had him just under a year when his birth father decided to claim him. Although he initially wanted nothing to do with the baby he won legally and she was devastated. After years of fertility treatments had failed, she became pregnant a few months later and gave birth to a beautiful daughter. She still tries to communicate with the birth mother who wanted her to keep the baby. It is hard to understand why these things happen but I will continue to pray for all of you.
