Playing at the Beach

With four small ones in tow, we didn't necessarily spend every waking minute at the beach (thank goodness my mom sprang for the pool!), but we got in our fair share of fun in the sand while we were there. Maybe next time we head to the beach they'll be a little older so when they want to go straight into the ocean without holding our hands they can. This time? Not so much, and it made those youngest two girls pretty feisty!

Looking close to a melt down, but snacks make everything better.

Fishing. The lures on his reel turned into sponge fish when they got wet. He may have thought he was actually catching sponge fish.

Beach Trip 2014

In September, we took a trip to the beach with my mom, brother, and sister. I'm not sure if you could call it a "vacation" since four small children were involved, but we had lots of fun. Max was all about the sand, and the other three warmed up to it eventually. The last day they all wanted to go in the ocean alone, and they were not too happy that we wouldn't let them. Why isn't it okay to just walk in alone??? Sigh. Overall, great fun, great food, and a lot of fun memories!

Gotta Go Wild, Wild Kratts!

Max turned four on September 11th, so a couple days before we had a small party with our neighbors to celebrate. You know I love a good party, but I really tried to keep everything simple (aka: cheap) and fun. We did it on a weeknight, which was actually kind of awesome. I'm a fan.

Max has been really into Wild Kratts the past few months, so the party theme was a natural choice. He was so excited! Sweets, animal masks, a few gifts, and friends...everything a four year old could want, right?
