I love a good smash cake! I couldn't wait to see what the girls would do at their party. I would say overall Addie was a bit more enthusiastic about the whole thing and made a big ol' mess. Emmie liked it, then she didn't like it, then she liked it, then she was done. Overall, though, I think they are both fans...

One more post about party decorations and then on to the good stuff...the party itself!

I wanted to have a few fun activities for the kids. It ended up raining a lot and soaking the backyard, but we set up in the driveway, and I think it turned out well. I had the idea to plant flowers as a party favor (you know...bees...flowers), and of course I turned to Pinterest for ideas on executing the idea. It was such an easy activity that the kids really enjoyed!

We also used the little water beads from the floral section of the craft store in a water table for another hands on activity. It got pretty messy, but kids just love the way they feel. And it really didn't take that long to clean up.

Bee Day Party...The Dessert Table

I love a good dessert table! I would say that's mostly because it involves sugar, and partly because it is fun to put one together. I had no problem finding decorations, and I did some research and started planning out what I wanted way in advance. They only have the yellow Oreos in the spring, so I stocked up when I could. (Just as a side note, Oreos are a great dessert table food if you have kids with an egg allergy. They don't feel as left out).

I knew I wanted to save money in the cake area, so I did Sams cupcakes (they are so good!) and added little flags to dress them up. I also had them make the little smash cakes, and then I added the letters on top. I added a few plastic honey bears filled with M&Ms and honeycombs, and we were good to go!
