Sickie

Last weekend Max came down with a "fever virus." No other symptoms. Just cranky, hot, and generally miserable. It lasted through the beginning of this week, but luckily he seems to be feeling better.

Waiting at the weekend clinic. After over an hour we had to get creative!

A sucker to calm a grumpy boy. He looked at them like they had lost their minds when they pricked his finger. This is right before the flu test. He got so upset after it that he got sick all over the room...awesome!

So sad...

This guy never sleeps on people, but he woke up early from nap and cried and cried. Mimi managed to get him back asleep, and he slept for almost two more hours!

Deep in thought...

Another Haircut

Max got his second haircut last week. I was a little worried, because last time he went to a kid's salon in Texas. We don't really have anything around here like that, so I've been putting off going. I just wasn't sure how it was going to go. We had some pictures taken Thursday, though, so a haircut was a must. I ran him up to the nearest place, and he did great! He was definitely a little (very) wary of what was going on, but he never squirmed or cried. He took the whole thing very seriously. Success!

Wreath ReDo

I have had this wreath (minus the flowers) on my door for awhile, but it just looked kind of sad. I saw one of my friends make these fun painted burlap flowers recently, and I decided that they were just what this wreath needed. With a little help, I think the wreath went from boring to fun and ready for spring!

The Other Weekend

Whew...I need to catch up! Last weekend, we had a busy but fun time. We started with a little baking on Thursday night. My friend DeAnna and I decided we needed to make a king cake. It was delicious, and it was fun to share it with friends!

Yum! We may have doubled the cream cheese icing.

The next morning we had our adoption homestudy visit, and Max was dressed to impressed.

Right after the homestudy we headed to Texas for the night to celebrate Mike's grandmother's 90th birthday. Max did well on the drive. I was so happy we had a DVD player the last hour or so!

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures in Texas. I did get one of Max in his new tent. He hates the pack and play, so this is what we are going with. He wouldn't sleep in it at first, but in his defense I had only gotten it the night before. He did end up sleeping in it...at 2:15 in the morning!

Before that he was sleeping in the bed with us. First time ever. He made it three hours before he wanted his own space.
